Event Description

Join the Creative Economy and Entrepreneurial Development (CEED) Initiative in Anacostia, Washington, DC
WHY JOIN CEED
Be a part of a movement to revitalize Anacostia by bringing your expertise, skills and talents to local business owners and nonprofit leaders in an up and coming community.

WHAT IS CEED?
CEED is a project of Arch Development (http://www.archdevelopment.org/) and is funded by the Department of Housing and Community Development.

The goal of CEED is to bring viability to existing small businesses or nonprofits, to help launch new businesses and to rejuvenate historic Anacostia with a creative twist.
We are looking for individuals skilled in:
  • Small business development
  • Business strategy
  • Financing a small business
  • Nonprofit leadership
HOW WILL THIS WORK
We are conducting an Evening with the Experts on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. There will be a reception at 6pm in the Honfleur Gallery (http://www.honfleurgallery.com/), followed by information sessions beginning at 6:45pm.

During the information sessions, business owners will rotate to hear your expertise and critical advice and ask questions on business topics important to their success.

There will be two rotations, each lasting 45-minutes.

You may conduct an individual session or do a joint session with other alum.  We anticipate 15-20 minutes of presentation, followed by a question and answer period. Believing that the richest learning lies in the exchange of ideas, the majority of the time is spent on discussion and the question and answer period.

NEXT STEPS
Reflect on what gift/area of expertise you would like to offer this community.

Reflect on the lasting effect you could have on the revitalization of a community.

Send an email to Tiffany Quivers (tquivers@gmail.com) with your areas of expertise and topic of interest.

Thank you for your consideration!
