Peter C.B. Bynoe

Peter Bynoe is Senior Counsel at DLA Piper, an international law firm with more than 3,500 lawyers. He is also a partner at Loop Capital Markets, LLC. Mr. Bynoe holds degrees from Harvard College, Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. 

Mr. Bynoe has a distinguished business and civic career. He is currently the head of the Sports Facilities practice group at DLA Piper. From 1988-1992, Mr. Bynoe served as the CEO of the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, leading the development of a new Comiskey Park for the Chicago White Sox. Mr. Bynoe has also served as managing general partner of the National Basketball Association’s Denver Nuggets from 1989 to 1992. 

Following the Denver Nuggets transaction, Mr. Bynoe served as a consultant to the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority and the Atlanta Committee to Organize the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.   He has since negotiated stadium and arena deals for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, the Miami Heat, the Washington Redskins, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Columbus Blue Jackets.  Mr. Bynoe also represents institutional clients such as The Boeing Company, Sara Lee Corporation, Essence Communications, Jump Higher LLC, and CNA Insurance.  Mr. Bynoe was designated an Illinois Super Lawyer in 2005 and 2006.

Mr. Bynoe has also made significant contributions to Chicago’s civic community.  He serves as a Life Trustee of the Goodman Theater, as a trustee of Rush University Medical Center, and as Trustee of the CORE Center.  He is also a member of the Harvard Club of Chicago, a former member of the Harvard University Board of Overseers, and one of six recipients of the 2008 Harvard Alumni Association Award, honoring outstanding service to the university through alumni activities.
