Join the Harvard Black Alumni Society of New York, with support from Scholastic, for a discussion on creating an education system that works for all students with featured remarks from Retired General Colin Powell, the 65th U.S. Secretary of State and the only African American to serve as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Each year, more than 1 million young people drop out of high school in America -- a crisis that Gen. Powell has rightfully identified as "a moral catastrophe." This event will feature insights from General Powell as well as New York public school educators, administrators, parents and students on how we, as a nation, can attain equality and excellence for all students and more relevantly, how we as citizens can support and promote this pursuit in our day-to-day lives.
