Khadijah Williams stepped into chemistry class and instantly tuned out the commotion.
She walked past students laughing, gossiping, napping and combing one another's hair. Past a cellphone blaring rap songs. And past a substitute teacher sitting in a near-daze.
Quietly, the 18-year-old settled into an empty table, flipped open her physics book and focused. Nothing mattered now except homework.

Please join us for a Black Ivy League Alumni Happy Hour at Fly Lounge. Fly Lounge is nestled in the down town District corridor. Fly conjures the feel of getting away to an exotic destination. Fly's aviation-themed design of curved, dropped ceilings replicate the cylindrical fuselage of a 747. It's aluminum-paneled walls and flat-screen monitors positioned like windows and free bags of salted mixed nuts only help to advance the fantasy.
