Volunteer For The Most Remarkable Non-Event of the Year!

Advocate Nations of Africa, LTD., is a non-profit organization that develops and implements educational programs and sponsors development projects in sub-Saharan Africa as well the American inner city focusing on African American youth.  Their fall fundraiser is their First Annual Advocate's Fantasy Ball.  A fantasy ball, like fantasy football, actually never takes place.  Instead ticket holders pledge to spend time on the day of the ball doing something education with a child.

The First Annual Advocate's Fantasy Ball is to benefit The James Project of the Advocate Nations.  The James Project is designed to create school homes for orphans of war and HIV/AIDS in Africa. Working independently and with other agencies, The James Project provides school materials and teacher training at no cost to orphanages that want to add education to their care regime.  In many of the orphanages in Africa, children are feed and cared for but never receive any form of education.

The James Project is the beginning of a larger education initiative in sub-Saharan Africa.  Working with African governments, USAID and the UN, along with other charities, Advocate Nations hopes to create a consist education standard across Africa.

Highlights of our program include:

1. A Digital Open Source K-12 Curriculum - Complete with lesson plans, free textbooks, and teaching aids.  The Open Source Education Project has been working since January to create a complete K-12 free body of materials based on the newly released Common Core State Standards, compiled by 48 states and 2 territories.  The materials are formatted to be printed on-demand locally or printed the traditional way.  The advantage offered is that Malawi schools would no longer need to stockpile books or deal with trying to use donated books that local teachers still must create lesson plans for. For more information on the innovative Open Source Education Project see:

2. The Advocate Mastery Approach - This approach is designed to standup a school system where none or little exists based on assessment, placement, and mastery level teaching methods.  The traditional approach to education places a great burden on taxed resources.  The Advocate Mastery Approach is flexible enough to stand up new school or reform older schools using Open Source Education Project material.  For more information on how the Advocate Mastery Approach works, see:

3. Teaching Masters - To help local orphanages or education authorities implement school reform or open new schools, we offer Teaching Masters that have been tested to have mastered all the levels of the Open Source Education Project materials for all subjects covering k-12 core knowledge.  Teaching Masters work with several local teachers/teacher trainees and train local people to increase their personal knowledge mastery and so creates new teaching resources to expand the approach.  For more information on Teaching Masters, see:
