"I encourage younger people to seek out mentors, and I take every opportunity to pass on whatever advice and guidance I can to those who can benefit from it."
The Harvard Alumni Association, the Harvard Black Alumni Society, and Professor Emmanuel Akyeampong invite you to explore Ghana’s history and culture.
Trace the forces of change from a forested, hunter-gatherer way of life through the times of slavery to the modern era. In addition to Slave Trade issues and areas which have been shaped by the Slave Trade, this program also focuses on natural areas of interest, World Heritage Sites, and Ghana’s traditions and its peoples. A diverse audience of students, alumni, and expert leaders enlivens discussion and educational exchange.
The trip is limited to 25 travelers. The land-only price for alumni is $2,650 and there is a special Harvard undergrad student rate of only $1,895!
